Mocha Macadamia Shake

On mornings when I have an intense training session planned, I always start the day by blending up a mocha shake. The caffeine from the coffee and the cacao paired with the carbohydrates from the banana make me feel powerful and energised for my workout and help me perform my best each day! Not to mention, the combination is utterly delicious which makes it so much easier to jump out of bed and get excited to train. This recipe also has a spoonful of macadamia nut butter which adds richness and gives a flavour that almost resembles white chocolate. Together, the blend of ingredients tastes just like a delicious Starbucks frappaccino that I used to love growing up, but with none of the dairy or refined sugar, it’s so much better for you and will get you feeling stronger and better than ever!

Mocha Macadamia Shake

Ingredients

  • 1 large frozen banana
  • 150-200ml brown rice milk- to desired thickness. (Any milk will work but I like brown rice as it’s naturally sweet so makes the shake super delicious).
  • 120ml cup brewed coffee (medium-dark roast)
  • 1 heaped teaspoon raw cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon macadamia nut butter (cashew butter also works)

Method

Simply place all the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a glass, sip and enjoy!
